Where is the starter Lucas # located?

I need to replace my starter, where can I locate the Lucas number? It is really not very easy to see. Is it on the top or side? Any clues?:confused:

There are numbers on the cylinder housing near the Phillips screws that secure the field windings. I'm holding one and its hard enough to read it in my hand, its going to be impossible to read if its in the car.

Why do you need numbers? All the Alpines use the same starter
