Hi All

My dad and I have been trying to change the bottom pulley on my automatic Alpine. In the process of tightening it, the dog that the starting handle slots into that holds the pulley onto the crankshaft has broken. (the threaded mild steel piece has stripped out of the aluminium dog casting

Does anybody have a spare bolt or dog that I could come and get this evening?

Please call me on 07814 753 997 or 01277 824017

Thanks

Nick & Tim Raymond

It's my understanding they made 2 different kinds of the bolts that you are referring to (besides a standard grade 8 bolt). Can you describe which kind you had?

I replaced mine with the plain grade 8 bolt, and have never regretted it. It's easy to tighten and seems to be a better design. It's not original, but I have no intentions of ever crank-starting my car, as I gather there's some risk involved.
