I bought a repair kit from Sunbeam Specialities and it worked well. Just doesn't return automatically. It might, I just haven't figured out how.

There should be a little metal ring clamped to the inner column that urns with it. The ring has a tab on it that when the wheels are straight will sit in the center of the switch. Then when you turn the wheel it moves outside the ears on the switch and flips it back to the neutral position as the sterring returns to dead ahead.

Thanks for the information. I'll look at that when I work on the gauges, of which only the oil and temp work.
