I am having a conversion kit made to use the Toyota 5 speed 2T split alloy transmission from a Celica. Is there anyone out there who knows what model years will work. I have spoken to a company which says they can get me a rebuilt one if I know which years they came out of.

Thanks

Toyota Supra I believe is the transmission being provided by turnkey companies for converting Alpines to five speeds.

A Toyota 2T is a 4-cylinder engine that was in very early non-US Celicas and some Corollas. Here is a very good resource that lists most of the RWD Toyota transmissions. I think most people are going with either T50 or W58 transmissions. T50's came attached to A and T series engines (corollas) and W Series transmissions typically came behind M series engines (Supra, some of the big sedans, etc). Hope this information helps.

Hi,

As well as the Celica 2T & 3T (T50) alloy gearbox, you can also use the steel case (P51 or W50) gearbox found in the crown, corona, celica and cressida. The Supra gearbox has also been used behind the Rootes engines as well, but not in the Dellows catalogue.

Regards, Robin.
