Timing Chain Spacing

The adventure continues as I try to figure out how to put my SI back together.

This question has to do with the spacing of the timing chain from the "block to the chain". I don't remember ever removing it but the pulleys don't seem to go on far enough and the damper pulley doesn't go on far enough for the key-way to engage and the bolt does not reach the threads of the crank.

Here's what mine looks like:

Thanks,

Ken

There is a front engine mounting plate that goes on first before the sprockets.
Crank sprocket on backwards?

Thank you Jan, that helped a lot! I guess I did take the timing chain off 25 years ago and forgot. A lot of water has poured over this damn in all that time.
