I'm working on installing the heater controls in my SV and have a couple of questions. If I can get this going maybe I'll get another month of driving here in the Chicago area. Since I don't have the top or side windows installed yet I need to do something.
1. How does the heat control cable route throught the dash to the firewall? Looking at pictures of the engine compartment, the cable is supposed to exit the firewall high on the drivers side just above the frame stiffener tube. Under the dash, the only way I can see to route to this is via a 1/2" diameter hole that is just above the steering tube. However, when I route though this, the cable that was in the box that came with the car would be too short and the bends in the cable don't seem smooth. Is there a different underdash hole that should be used? I have my heater valve mounted to the frame stiffener tube.
2. When mounting the controls to the dash, are there supposed to be any spacers between the bottom of the plastic mount tab and the control? If I don't use a spacer, my controls rub on the top of the bezel.
Thanks,
Mike
