My speedometer has never worked so I am trying to fix it. First, I disconnected the cable from the transmission and attached it to my drill. Yes...the speedo works. Now I went to pull the gear out of the tranny, removed two small bolts but that is about as far as I got. I can't figure out how to remove the gear.....any thoughts?

It should just pull out. There are two bolts and a retainer, perhaps that's stuck?
Good luck!

More often than not they are usually stuck in good and proper. Having removed the two securing bolts you need to carefully prise around the base plate with screwdriver and multigrips and try and wriggle out the housing which supports the drive gear, without damaging the threaded portion.
