Solid State Gauge Regulators

NOTE: THESE UNITS ARE FOR SERIES#3,4,5 &Tigers ONLY

Hi guys - I’m running out of the components ,(enough for about twenty left) that I use to make the SOLID STATE GAUGE REGULATORS. I don’t think I will be ordering more components as I have to buy them in 100 lots.
I’ve made more than 300 and I’m getting too old to fool with them anymore.
I plan to attend the invasion and will bring some units if PRE-ORDERED only.
I’ve sold many on E-Bay for $20 +$5 S&H. I will sell them at the Invasion for $15 or two for $25.
At this time I only have two units and they are on E-Bay.
I will need to know ASAP if you want me to bring one (or more) for you, as I will have to assemble and test them. Please let me know if you want positive or negative ground units. You can see my listing on e-bay here. Ed.

As I've testified before, Ed's regulator solved my problem with my gauges and I'm a 100% satisfied customer. I bought his after going through a number of used units and two "new" ones from our favorite Sunbeam suppliers.

It's worth every penny!

Ed, I'll take one as backup, and I'll be at the Invasion.
Does this message work as my "Public Purchase Order" or should
I send you money now?

Ed's ebay listing shows what this thing is.
I received one through the good graces of V6 Jose, if I recall,
at the WPAFB invasion. He won it as a door prize, but didn't
need it due to, shall we say, slight modifications to his car.
I was happy to receive it, and put it to use almost immediately.

After suffering through several issues during that year's rally,
I was perplexed to see a new issue of rapidly escalating
temperatures on my drive back to Columbus. Seeing no
coolant leaks to speak of, I thought perhaps the loose/wrong
radiator cap might be the issue. But that didn't fix it, either.
During one of my 'cool off' stops on the side of the road,
it dawned on me that instead of the car being too hot,
it could be the gauge showing an incorrect temperature.
(Plus, it sure didn't look like I was using much gas,
either! Like none for the last day!) Since I had the Ed's door prize
regulator, I went ahead and wired it in. Took about five minutes,
and I think I used maybe one screwdriver. Started it up, and the
temp gauge was right on-center. Had a few less gallons of gas, too.
Hmmm... I decided to venture out, and, lo and behold, the temp
held right where it should be for the duration of the trip!
When I arrived home, I got out the IR thermometer, and indeed
all was well! So, I'm a fan!

Sunny has been modified (V6, Classic Instruments tach & speedo) but has stock fuel, oil pressure and water temp guages. Am I safe in assuming that this regulator would be a good idea for Sunny? If so, I'll pick one up from you at Invasion Ed. Thanks!

Hi Ed,

I just looked on E-bay and didn't see the second one... must have sold before I saw this thread. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Invasion this year, but would like to get one of the regulators for a negative ground. Any chance I could still get one?

Thanks,

Rich

Not gonna make Invasion but definitely interested in a negative ground version. What do you need to convince you to let me have one???

Thanks! Jared

I am a electronics tech and could build one easily. i even have an idea on how. but if you are not going to make them anymore would you mind sharing a schematic so i can make one myself?

Ed - assuming one of your positive ground units will work on my Humber, I'll take one for pick up at Invasion. Thanks.
