Hope someone can help. I've given up trying to find a working temp sensor for the early Alpines, seems no one has one. My question is, does anyone know the approximate difference in the reading of an early sensor to a later sensor? Does a newer one read higher or lower? I'm going to have to put a newer one in and compensate for the difference. Some kind of reading is better than none. Thanks for any help, Dave

Have you tried the UK sunbeam suplliers? They seem to stock a lot of early seires mechanical parts....
Stateside maybe members @65sunbeam , @twautomotive , @Jaars , @volvoguys might have a lead.

Dave,

The early gauges work on a totally different principle. The sensors for late gauges are not at all close enough to be useful for early series. The original sender for early gauges was a 4800 , and I thought supplier were offering 5720 as a replacement. Those are quite close.
