S III Alpine Drag Racer, in process

I stopped by Tom Duncan's Alpine project recently.

A SIII with a Small Block Ford, currently a C4 and a 9" 4 link rear.

Sporting Hilborn mechanical fuel injection, a MG Midget Rack and Pinion,

and a pair of 15" x 12" rear wheels,

it should get down the track smartly.

Tom is no stranger to the Drag strip.

Not a lot of Alpine left on that bone, but it will probably go like stink for a quarter-mile. The old-school tall-stack Hilborn mechanical fuel injection setup brings back memories. I changed a lot of "pills" back in the day. WOT was simple, idle was iffy at best and anything in-between was pretty much impossible.

Sounds like the motorcycle side draft carb I installed in the '69 Alpine.
