Repairing the Cubby Surround

I am talking about that arched plastic piece that surrounds the cubby box.

Mine in broken in half. I'm thinking I could glue it with epoxy or JB Weld. My thinking is that if I completely fill the cavity in the back that would support and hopefully stabilize the whole thing.

What product would be the best for this repair.

brittle things arn't they. I used Araldite with some GRP on the back to support

For folks not living in the UK, "Araldite" is a brand of 2-part epoxy resin and "GRP" is fiberglass. Sounds like a good, solid fix.

JB Weld would do a similarly good job. Only thing I can think to add is to be sure you've lightly roughed up the back and removed any silicone polish residue so you get proper adhesion.

I used JB Weld. Scuff the surface, build up material in areas that are not visible, sand and finish. I used Krylon satin black. It makes a very nice finish and holds up well.
