questions reguarding the initial fitting of the V6

I am ready to fit the engine. Since the engine and transmission are already together and running, can it be put in the car as a single unit with the back axle raised about 2 feet? If so, where is the best place to attach the engine leveler chains to the engine? Is there to much pressure on the heads if attached to the side holes on the exhaust side of the head?

Some Guys go from the bottom.

I go down from the top.

Leave off the headers, the starter, and oil filter adapter will provide you a bit more wiggle room:)

OF course the fan should also be removed.

Find a balance point with the "tilt" slightly downward toward the rear of the engine & Tranny. Just "don't" hook to the intake!! The bolt holes in the heads are adequate for the weight!

Have fun:)

Are you referring to the Offy intake in this post? I’ve watched car programs where they lift big blocks by a plate bolted down to the aluminum intake.

Yes! I highly recommend "NOT" using the aluminum bolt holes of the OFY Manifold.

Anyway why take a chance when there are so many "other" options available?

Just happened to get the engine in last night. Put the transmission in first with the rear mount in place, then mated the engine.

Used wood spacer instead of the bushing to eliminate burning the bushing with welding. Need to put the headers on to locate where the frame needs to be modified.

The clutch arm still hits the back of the first step in the tunnel. Having already cut outside of this point, I may just cut that area out and form a cover to weld in place vs try to bend more metal.

The crank pulley just touches the crossmember. may need to beat that in 1/8 - 1/4".

Are there different sized transmission yokes that fit the '95 mustang T5? Currently it touches the side wall. It may be possible to slide the rear mount over a little, but even then it may hit. If I need to slightly widen the tunnel in that spot, it may be difficult as the tunnel bulkhead in the cockpit is in that area.

I have pictures to post, but the work computer is not letting me use google drive. the above URL may work for one picture. I'll post more later. All the help is appreciated.
