We got the following question today on our Facebook page:

Hello
Needing help identifying build tag on a 1964 Sunbeam. Please see "SB" to lower right corner below LRX. Thank you for any help.

I don't recognize this VIN or the stamping, but the rivets look original. Can anyone help him? If so, I can post the answer on Facebook for you or you can do it yourself. (p.s. Whenever I answer a question on Facebook I always try to guide the person to the forum with a link to some other information. I am not sure that will work here, though.)

I don't recall ever seeing the "SB" ..... so I guess I need to start searching.....:)

Jim, The Build codes indicate the car as being June 3 - 7, 1963 as a Series III

I had read the first two positions of the VIN as "BC" rather than "B0". That makes sense. Now, we just need to figure out what "SB" means.

Do you have the Alpine Guide? I have a copy I purchased from the SAOC -UK I'll go through it tomorrow for the "SB" Code.... maybe I can find what it means.

Two of my Harringtons have the SB on the VIN plate. This is listed somewhere in the archives.
