I stand corrected. I know that Rapier Series 2, 3 & 3A have the hooded rims with chrome edging and that Series 1, 4 & 5 have chrome plated ones but I didn't know that any cars were fitted with painted Alpine-type rims.

tony, you may be right on the issue of chrome v painted.. my original stament as in their suitability for alpines, tigers rapiers, minxes, gazelles was more the form as opposed to the finish.. if they are remade chroming or painting is up to the individual.. as with NOS.. not hard to get a set chromed.

I have three Alpines (2 SIV's and a SV) all three have hooded and painted rims, Original as far as I know.
