New Alternators Now Available

Check this out from Holden in the UK. They look like the stock generators and bolt right up.

Yeah, they've been advertising them in UK publications for quite some time now. They are much lighter than the standard generator, too. But the price is *really* hard to accept - over $600 US when you include shipping. Yeow.

I've seen those too, and balked at the price. May be more appropriate for a high end 60's and earlier car where that original look is more important.

I get emails from Holden notifying me of new products or sales and just thought I'd pass it along. I gasped at the price too, but thought it would be worth it for those wanting the benefits of an alternator without the hassle of finding or fabricating a bracket. This seemed like a clever fix to me, something that would ALMOST tempt me to jump the fence to the negative ground crowd.
