Names for our cars

Just for fun.....

I know this is kind of silly, but my first car was the only car that had a name....until I got my Alpine a couple years ago. It was a 68 Camero that was named "Mable" after a Camero I saw at a drive-in after I finished Highschool back in 1977. I can't recall the title of the movie at the moment.

My Alpine is a Series V that , like many, need a lot of TLC to bring it back into something a guy can feel good about. I've named her "Norma Jean", but at some point, when I get the paint done, wheels and a new top, she's going to start going by "Marilyn".

What has inspired some of the names of your Alpines?

Hi Rich! I never named a car until I bought my Alpine a few months ago. I called her Sunshine (Sunny for short) because she brightens up my day, even a day like today when I find out that the machine shop doesn't have the main bearings to finish the rebuild!

Actually, I'm thinking of buying a couple of extra trunk letters and changing mine to a "Sambeam."

About ten years ago when I hunted on a deer lease, I built a cabin around an old pop-up camper, mixed up all the spare paint I had around, and painted it: turned out a nice blue-green. I called it "Casa Viagra" because we weren't supposed to have any permanent erections on the lease.

When our SV was first put on the road, after a 4-year on again/off again restoration, there was so much slack in the steering (box, track rod ends, ball joints etc.) that my wife named her Waltzing Matilda. After all the necessary rectification, the name Matilda stuck.

Car Names....

My wife calls my Sunbeam..."The Other Woman"...because if I am not in the house or at work then you can usually find me outside in the garage, spending all my time and money on her...

And I tell her...Well, I could be at the bar so it could be worse.

I named my SII T'ea. After T'ea Leone. Petite, cute... high maintainance!
Although my wife agreed with the name, she has renamed her DLW.

Thats Daddy's Little Wh*re.

I thought she could be right, but now I know, she's right! :D
