mistake overdrive wiring?

Im installing a modern 5 terminal relay for the overdrive on my 67 series v. There is an excellent diagram on how to do the wiring from Throwman 6/4/2012 that shows the yellow/blue wire going to terminal 86/w2 and the yellow green going to 85/w1. The wiring diagram for the original relay has yellow/blue going to w1 and yellow/green going to w2. Witch is correct? Also when replacing the loop wire with a diode, which side is the diode stripe on?

See my post #9 with dwg here:

The band on the diode goes to the W2 terminal on a neg earth car. And note that you should use a resistor as noted in my drawing/ Otherwise there is unlimited current flowing thru your column switch when turning the OD Off.

Throwman's wiring, showing w1 and w2 swapped is not a problem as they are just opposite ends of the coil and will operate the relay correctly. But it DOES confuse things and may confuse the orientation of the diode and location of the resistor.

Thanks

I will just swap his w1 and w2 in the diagram. This should then be identical to your diagram. I have the same relay as his illustration. I miss my od.

Thanks Tom

Everything works as it should now. Took about a half hour and all is good now. Thanks again for the help.
