Life with an old Weber 32-36

After a few hundred miles with a .79 idle jet and 25 miles per gallon, I decided something had to change. The exhaust pipe was sooty black, so it was running pretty rich most of the time. I drilled out the idle enrichment passage a few thou, installed a 50 idle jet and backed the idle screw out a couple of more turns. It idles about the same as it did with the .79. Took it for a test drive, ran pretty good. Will have to put 200 or so miles on it to see how the mileage was affected.

The joys of using junk parts. I don't know if I would have the guts to do that with a new carb.
