Australian tripple world champion Jack Brabham has passed away at the age of 88.

Apart from his many grand Prix and other achievements he has a strong link with Sunbeams.

Brabham offered conversion parts for Alpines and Rapiers and indeed raced Sunbeam Alpines in the USA.

He was also apparently one of the instigators to tryign an engine switch for the Alpine in a hope to pick up the conversion for his company.

Here are some images of Sit jack with Sunbeams, racing, in advertsiign and indeed at the launch of the Sunbeam Tiger.

He was a great guy who i met a few times at historic events and always spoke to the fans.

for some images go to the CAT forum.

Michael:

I just got to work and read this on MSN. Sad news, indeed. Jack Brabham was one of my favorite drivers of the era. It's too bad he's gone from us now, but he has left a great legacy in. RIP, Sir Jack.
