ignition question

Located below the coil and connected to the SW coil terminal and ballast resistor is what looks like a capacitor. I don't see it on the wiring diagram. Does any one know what it does?

it's probably a noise filter for the radio .i have had it on the series 4 for probably 30 years. i also have them on two of my 69's .
