Cam latches from McMaster Carr not flush but.I never could figure out why nobody ever made a locking (keyed) Dzus push-and-turn latch. Seems an easy thing to design and would be useful for both aircraft and cars.

1/2" length to suit the thickness of the hood bracket etc, there are also different springs heights that allow adjustment of the grip to suit.Lastly I think, which size did you use?
And as far as springs go you can put pop rivet washers under the spring to change the grip a little trick,if you don't have an assortment of springs.Lastly I think, which size did you use?
