GT Interior light wiring

I'm in the process of refitting my missing GT interior light and was wondering how the wiring to the light was routed?

It seems logical that the wire is threaded through the windscreen frame then out into the light through the frame behind the fitting, but I can't see any openings in my screen frame except for the mounting screw threads, which makes me think that maybe my screen frame is not the original or the wiring is installed is a differnet way.

Any assistance on this details is much appreciated.

The Series 3 GT that I am restoring had the wire tucked in the rubber that fits around the windshield.

Cheers,

Thanks Todd,

That was the other method that I was considering but it just seemed a bit too after thoughtish to me. Could a production car really have wiring installed in that way? Wiring hiding in a rubber seal just seems a bit too casual. What do you think? It's the kind of thing a handyman might do. It'll be interesting to see if other GT owners have any more detail on this.

Yep, that's the way they did it. Took my unmolested III GT apart years ago and removed the wire from under the the windshield fram rubber.
