Going to the Sun Road

Looks like a nice drive....

Probably is if the construction is done. We were there a couple of years ago the day after the pass was cleared. What a mess! Cars, trucks, buses and construction everywhere. I was glad to be in a Park tour bus. Beautiful ride and I was able to enjoy the scenery.

Some folks would rather push start an Alpine with a dead starter than ride in a tour bus...
Allan and l tore up the Rez that day in Coyoye Blue and his Green Monster Tiger.
It was great day for a couple of FUTURE HAS BEENS!

Count me among the Alpiners. Unfortunately, the Alpine was almost 2,000 miles away. We had just helped move our son to Missoula and were in a Focus wagon. Is the Road still under construction? I only remember it was an extensive, multi-year project.

But don't knock the Park Tour bus. An excellent way to forget traffic and see the Park. And the price is definitely right.

P.S. Let me know when you need the kit.

I told my girlfriend I wanted to take my Vette on our trip to Glacier in 2010, and she didn't want to. Once we got on the "Going to the Sun" road, she said we probably should've taken it to enjoy the view better. We'll be going in the Alpine once it's done for sure! With the T-tops off in the Vette it would've been pretty nice, but a convertible... :D

Bear in mind that East Glacier Park and Going to the Sun Highway is all owned by the proudest most fierce plains tribe ever -The BLACKFEET who I know well. They have no use for 'napi-quan' tourists and sometimes myself so remember when on the Rez you are not in Canada or the USA but on the land of the Blackfeet Sovereign Nation where you are not exactly welcome.....

What language do they speak? I am not fluent but can get handle Cree to some extent. I understand more when others talk than others understand when I do.
