now i'm getting mildy irritated. pius is latin for the english pious. so in my book that means the same. (pius isn't in my oed although i do only have the consise edition...)

I often wonder why people take a joke apart and concentrate on the irrelevant. What the flamin' hell does it matter what the meaning of pius is in English, Latin or Mongolian? It was supposed to be a JOKE about the popes with the name pius. And why be irritated? Life is too short. Remember, ira furor brevis est.
