Cheap(er) gear reduction starter

Has anyone tried to fit one of these starters to their Alpine?

Though they're are a bit cheaper it looks like they can't be 'clocked' like the Gustafson starters can; I also wonder if they will engage far enough on to the ring gear (an issue with some VB reduction starters I think)

I bought one thinking it would fit my series II with the 1725 series V motor. No such luck. I ended up getting a RMA to send the starter back and then bought the adjustable version from British Starters. Even then, I had to do some slight modification to get the starter to fit.

I bought one of the British starter units form the Harrington and it blolted right on as is, and starts the car effortlessly. What a difference from the stock starter! Great unit.
