Brake pedal return stop?

With the new master cylinder, I don’t see anything stopping the rod from pulling all the way out and separating from the master cylinder, aside from the rubber boot, when the pedal is pulled back too far. Have others added a pedal return stop?

Should be a spring to return pedal.

I do have the spring to pull it back, but with the rod is not captured in the master cylinder, so my concern is the brake pedal being pulled back too far, without anything to stop it.

You normally don't pull up any more. You could add a stop.

Thanks 260, it wouldn’t be normal to pull it back that far, but with such a critical system, I would want to know it’s not possible.

Just remember you need a little wiggle in the pushrod with the pedal up.

I use my brake light switch as a pedal stop.

That’s what I was thinking. Is that the stock gas spring hole?
