Brake light switches

Hey, guys:

Does anyone here know what the difference is between the Series I/II brake light switch and all the rest? The SS catalog shows the Series I/II switches to be a "ES25" while the Series III/onward show to be "ES55." Can someone shed some light on why these do not appear to be interchangeable?

Thanks,

I believe these are just different shapes and are interchangable. If my memory serves me correctly I have the later one on my series 2.

Andy,

SI and II were manual brakes. S3 on were equipped with a servo booster. Probable difference is the pressure required to activate the switch.
Just a wild guess.
