Ancient V6 Alpine

Jim Ellis's V6 conversion article says that the identity of the first person to fit the 2.8 in an Alpine is "lost in the mists of time." I wonder if there's a clue here!

This could be a very early V6 conversion, because the engine is from a Capri, and most probably is a 2.6 V6. The 2.6 V6 was sold in the Capri, as early as 1972, while the 2.8 V6 didn't appear until 1974 in both the Capri and Mustang II. I didn't do my first conversion 'till 1975, with the engine from a 1974 Mustang II that had only 5,000 miles on it.

The Ford 60 degree V6 Alpine conversion is such a natrual, that many guys saw the potential when the little V6's first came out.

Jose :)
