Alternator bracket

I'm having a problem with my water pump and its interaction with the alternator backet . The car is a 1967 series V with the 1725 motor. Dealing with the water pump is not an issue. The mounting bracket for the alternator is not consistent with the info I have read on the forum and in the WS manual. My bracket has a leg that leads from the alternator pivot point up to the water pump. I have attached photos of the bracket. Any info as to the origins of this bracket would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Good to know it's the proper piece and is appropriate for this engine.

You are lucky the two bolts came out without breaking. If they been in the block for 60 years, they are hard to break loose and remove.

What's the purpose of the "leg" ?

Does it have a bolt hole for added support ?

The hole in the end of the "strap" is clearly visible in both pictures when viewed on my desktop monitor, not so much on my laptop or phone.

Thanks Barry for that comment, as a result I "found" the hole:)

Looks like they just added the arm. Simple enough.

I still have an order in for the brackets at my Laser Shop....

Did those arms carry over to the Arrow Range? I don't remember them on my fastbacks but it was a long time ago. Also, would the arm make it more difficult to install a new water pump?

I found it necessary to remove the alternator and mouning bracket inorder to install the water pump. When the new water pump was in position I install the alternator bracket and secured the bracket while securing the water pump.
