Aftermarket side trim

What's the side chrome?

We have the same type side trim on our Alpine, although it is installed slightly lower. I thought our car was unique and I have never seen it elsewhere until now.

Does anyone know what it's from? Is it a period aftermarket thing or a dealer installed item?

I actually kind of like it on our car.

It's a safe bet to say aftermarket. Dealer instaled options are generally other types of radio, mirror, chrome wheels/light rims etc... While a dealer MAY have offered this its unlikely many would have and is more than likely generic aftermarket trim that a previous owner fitted.

Sort of looks like the stick on aftermarket trim that was on mine when I bought it. Not really period, more early to mid 1970's (at least here in Australia). But if you like it, keep it!!
