after 41 years...HEAT!

My heater core blew out last fall. One of my winter projects was to replace the stock heater/fan/diverter with a new unit. I finished the job several weeks ago but had not been out on the road for a real test until this afternoon. I am pleased with the results. For the first time ever I have heat - real heat - like turn down the heat!

I installed a new core with 4 built in fans. It fits with slight alteration into the original core cavity. Unit has 4 duct tubes, 2 of which I ran to the stock defroster ducts, 2 down to the footwells. It also has a variable speed control for the fans. I am pleased.

Always nice to have that warm (pun intended) feeling while driving a Sunbeam. Unless your racing in an enduro rally with no driver change.

I have a good original core, but I would be interested to see what you installed. Can you share a link or some pics?

here are a few photos. I found the unit while doing a search on the internet. It fits nicely in the original cavity when the original opening into the cockpit is enlarged by about 2". I removed all the original heater apparatus from the cockpit area. The included flexible hoses fit nicely over the original defroster duct fittings. I pulled 12v power off the original dash switch and routed it to the variable fan speed controller.
