A challange to help find a BW35 speedo seal

I'm getting a little trans fluid driping off the speedometer cable. I have looked for hours and can't find any source to buy one.

Your challenge should you accept it is to find a source for a BW35 automatic transmission speedometer cable seal.

Nice pic of the id plate, what does the seal look like? I know having the factory seal is the correct way to get it to stop leaking. BUT you can always find a way to make a seal or gasket yourself.

The BW35 was used I a lot of period British cars( Rootes saloons included) .. I'd assume UK suppliers will have them... Not sure what kind of gasket/ seal it is...but if a washer/ o ring ..then you can probably match locally

Even the gasket & repair kits on ebay & other places show the gaskets with 2 shifter rod seals but nothing else close to the speedo seal.

Get me the exact measurements of the OD of the seal, the shaft diameter and the seal thickness (depth), and I’m sure I can find you a seal. If you can read any numbers on the seal, that makes it even easier.

You need an SKF seal #3688. This will tolerate the trans fluid within normal transmission operating temperatures.

I’d advise contacting a local bearing and seal distributor, but they are also available online. My local supplier is Callahan Bearings in Colmar, PA, but I'm sure you can find a local supplier. Possible local folks in your area are:

Shawn Products:
Barings, Belting & Chain:
Gipson Bearing:
If you can't get them locally, here is a Google of the seal and a number with a number of online suppliers: https://g.co/kgs/fXsGqu
