This Alpine was purchased by the seller in Jan, 2015. It is finished in English Racing Green over a Black interior and is powered by a 1.75-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive.

The previous owner repainted the car in a richer green than its original approximately 6 years ago, and the seller notes paint chips some imperfections in the finish. Factory trim and bumpers have been retained along with factory original front and rear taillights. The car retains its original Black License Plate, and has always been a California car.

The seats have been reupholstered in black heavier grade vinyl, and thicker foam. The car is fitted with seatbelts, black carpets, and black Alpine-logo floor mats. Also added are burl dashboard with glove box and door, Kenwood Bluetooth radio with USB port in custom cabinet , hidden cup holders, and 2 additional USB ports. A wood-rimmed Moto Lita with Sunbeam badging steering wheel replaces the factory item.

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and separate Smiths gauges for the fuel level, oil temperature, and water temperature, all in good working condition. The Smiths clock is not original and has recently stopped. 87k miles are shown on the mechanical odometer, 15k put on by current owner.

The matching numbers, never bored, 1725cc inline-four is equipped with duel Zenith Stromberg carburetors, and is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission with the coveted period correct electrically-actuated Laycock de Normanville overdrive which can be engaged in third and fourth gears via a column lever, and makes freeway driving a pleasure. An upgraded alternator has been fitted in place of the original putting out 100 amps to power modern alarm, USB and Bluetooth radio, electric windshield washers, 2 additional USB charging ports and twin electric radiator fans.

An engine rebuild was done a year ago which included resurfaced aluminum cylinder head, new valves, bearings, oil pump, high grade German pistons and rings.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 1966 Alpine correct four-speed manual transmission with Laycock overdrive, both of which have been recently rebuilt (July 2019). During the rebuild a new clutch was installed.

Additional equipment includes PerTronix Flame-Thrower Electronic Distributor, heavy gauge spark plug leads, MDS Blaster 2 coil, 3 core radiator, chrome valve cover, Panasport wheels, stainless steel exhaust, electric fuel pump (original still attached for authenticity) with adjustable regulator, tonneau cover, service records from current and previous ownership, owner’s manual, Rootes Group Service Manual, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Minilite-style Panasport 15″x7″ wheels are mounted with Continental tires. The shocks have been replaced. The seller has changed front disk brake pads to green stuff pads and the rear drum brake wheel cylinders are new along with steel braded brake lines and both the slave and master cylinders.

The valve cover came with the car, but see them on e-bay a lot. As for the stromberg covers, they are just polished. The logo in air filters are just a vinyl stickers I had made at the mall. The new owner is having the carbs completely rebuilt and polished and when they come back they will look like jewelry, not to mention work better than I have ever had them.
