Jarrid,
Yes, our AU$ has made a big fall which means that comparatively yes the car would be more here now though 9K is about 14,500. i just had a discussion with Jose about this car.. and alpines in general.
It seems USA owners do not put much end value into the cars.. thats fine. I guess the way i look at it is.. regardless of what car you have alpine, tiger, MGB etc.. if you get a good straight largelly complete car you are starting a long way infront and i would pay a premium for that.
I think this car would consume another USD$10K to make really nice (trim, paint, rubbers and some mech) so the car would cost you 20 all in. However thats not bad to build a really nice car. Ask Ian, Jan, Paul S.. even Jim E how much you can have in these cars to get them nice.
The if you are not tracking down all the little bits here and there you will also save a lot of $ and time.
I dont care what they are worth in the end.. but i do care about the end result.. spending another 4K to get a really good straight car largely complete would well outweight the cost of fixing a slightly cheaper less complete car.
Just my .02c
Oh and by the way.. I once again say.. that straioght rust free SV with the rollbar/panasports, webers etc.. on the board for 10K is a steal... in AU you would not be asking less than 20K for it.. and im sure in the UK its a GBP7K+ car.
