Now I'm in for it.

The car came with a new aluminum radiator. I set it in place today and the rack does not appear to cause any problems. I didn't take a wheel off to look at the steering geometry yet.

Maybe tomorrow. I just set it in the lower brackets and held it up against the frame at the top. I wanted to make sure the lower hose had clearance from the rack.

Could you measure width and height? The Griffin Tiger radiator is approximately 22" x 16" I think.

So it appears the project originator was a pretty good hand at fabrication as well. He started a different approach to rad install. He fabricated these brackets and rails to hold the radiator at an rear leaning angle, leaving enough room for the lower hose to miss the rack, but keeping the hinge panel untouched.

Aladin, You want to patch the holes on each side where the horns were. That forces all the air through the radiator. Have you look at the steering geometry and measured your radiator?

Will do, thanks for the info.
Welding everything to be sure is the best suggestion you could follow. The original 1725 made 103 pounds per foot torque. You will most likely make over twice that with ease. Torque is "twisting force" so any bracing you can do will be a plus for longevity...not to mention safety.

Ok a couple new pics today. Looks like there may be some bump steer in my geometry. The tie rods have a little downhill slant to them. On a brighter note, look like mostly new fittings, brake lines, shoes and calipers. And for those interested in the radiator, it is a Tru-Kool that measures 19"×22". It is set up for a small overflow catch can.

Aladin, Thanks for the pics! If the steering arms are MGB try swapping sides and flipping them over so the tie rod goes down from the top. With your high rack mount they may level out.
