Windshield replacement

Has anyone replaced the windshield glass with the windshield frame mounted on the car? thanks

You definitely can do that and the old auto screen guys always did it that way but I always find it much easier to remove the frame and do it all on the bench. There are various videos on The Sunbeam Alpine Channel on YouTube showing the glass being replaced, heated screens installed, frames repaired etc.

There are some good pros and cons.. a d some of the pros can become cons.

Screen frame off is much easier...
You also get to check the frame for any rust and same for scuttle... which os good as you can sort potential problems... the bad news... a windshield replacement can become a bunch of other work too...
