I have a old GT wooden wheel that I have cleaned the pieces nicely and need to glue back together.

What is best glue?

Advice too!

I would think a clear two part epoxy would give the best results. It will be a pain to apply, but the end product can be sanded to whatever shape is required and then polished. I have not done this, but that is what left to mind.

I use wire tie wraps, about 30. I haven't tried the West System yet,I use Elmers wood glue and 6 or 7 coats of clear polyurethane.

West System is the wooden boat owners choice. Out of curiosity what black plastic strip do you use.

I used strips of plastic inlay from a guitar building supplier. When one starts the process of gluing the wooden grips on, I found it can be a mess doing it all at once. I glue on the bottom grips first to get everything, including the scarf joins, properly placed and let it hardened over night. Then do the top wooden strips.
