Just got my S3GT back on the road after it's 20 year slumber and having great fun driving around. The only problem I can find is the non sync box. Now I have read here about replacing them with other ones. So Q 1 how easy is it? and which one is best for the job and do I need adaptor plates?
Thanks tony in Canada.

Easy peasy.

No adapters, just be sure you get one with the 10 spline input and output shafts and transfer your current clutch pedestal + fork assy and you will have no grief at all.

Be sure the new trans comes with the shifter cover and shifter because they are not the same between non-sync and all sync.

Late SIV transmissions are also all sync but not exactly the same as the SV all sync (which has slightly better gear ratios).

If the input or output shafts are not 10 spline (as all non-synchs are), its not a show stopper as you will need the appropriate clutch disc and/or prop shaft for the applicable (fine) spline.

Hoping this finds you well.
