I got a new cast iron water pump from Rootes Spares. When I removed the old one the gasket covered the "extra" hole in the head (Series V ) It was kind of a dead end opening, however the new gasket does not seal this hole off . All of this is behind (head side) the plate on the pump. I think not having that hole sealed off will put extra "stress" on a gasket that I believe is prone to leak. I had some seepage into the lower pump bolt holes . Does anyone have tips on the water pump replacement??
