I’m sure it’s just me, but has anyone seen one of these in really nice condition? Seems every one that pops up is rusty and tatty. Are there good ones about that folks aren’t selling?
 
That car offered looks like a complete resto job. Beware of it's Touring construction with alu panels sitting on steel tube subframing on top of a Septre chassis which is suffering badly from contact corrosion. A very time taking and therefore extremely costly enterprise...

That car's been for sale for years, by the same seller. Acquired taste for sure.
If you want to see a really nice one, this months calendar car belongs to Robert Jaarsma in New
Hampshire. I've seen it in many states of his restoration and finally saw it finished at last years TE/AE United.
His is very, very nice. Dave Reina had his there as well, also a nice car, but I'm sure they're not for sale.

Yup.. Andrew Ford in South Australia restored his beautifully
 
Very nice indeed. Must have consumed a lot of time & money. We do have 2 Venezia's in the club (Gold original coloured in CH & a resto project) plus a silver one completely/nicely restored by an ex- member. Here is a picture of the golden one taken on the Mollis (CH) British car meet last year:

The cosmic wheels are an interesting choice...alsot hr contrasting sill colour

For me...If i was to ever go down the vinezia path ...if modify..
15" 72 spoke wire wheels.
I'd add a long shallow bonnet scoop with a polished stainless opening and recess the area Infront down to the bonnet similar to the touring Lancia flamina.. the Venezia bonnet is so flat and featureless..

That said... Not much danger of me owning one..given only 1 in Australia... And while I did import my Tiger form the states... I don't think I'd go through the import process again...

Well spotted about the very early cosmics. Didn't even know that comics even produced this italian looking design before seeing those on the golden one. Agree, they do match the car excellently. Sometimes amazing what our Swiss friends are digging out. He bought this car from an 80yrs+ Gentleman who bought this car new in the sixties from a Swiss Rootes dealer. That original owner painstakingly documented all services, etc. for the car. It's totally original while the Swiss people/dealers had the habit to paint the sills in mat Black. Perhaps for added gravel paint chip protection since Switzerland did not use salt in the winter times only gravel.

For me a Venezia is not high on the must have list too unless I run into a cheap unmolested original which is rather unlikely given the very low production numbers. Also the front design doesn't really attract me. Anyway our Club President is restoring one while putting a Tiger engine/drivetrain in. Let's see how this exercise will go considering the Sceptre chassis which is - at least from my perspective- not really strong enough to take that additional strain..
 
Is the air intake for the heater the scoop on the front driver's side of the car? Is the passenger side scoop a ram air intake for the engine? Either way, that is a great design.

Not ram air for the engine, they don't have an air box, just the standard sceptre setup.
 
That red one, once belonged to me. Here is a picture of how I found it in Oregon. When I sold it without having a motor it was made somewhat roadworthy, Rattle-can painted, still has the bullet hole in the rear, next to the right taillight. Note also the Alpine front bumper. Certainly not a complete resto job!

There is correspondence between Rootes and Ford which mentioned the engines for the Tiger and Venezia, this points out what Rootes was for the future. However both companies went under before to make this all happen.

Iirc the fastest car rootes ever built was a sceptre with a Chrysler V8...this was when they were also trying them in the Super Snipes.... If memory serves the Sceptre V8 did 135mph
