Vancouver 63 Sunbeam Harrington LeMans

V

Victoria

There is a previous photo of my car on your website, however, as I am thinking of selling my 63 Sunbeam Harrington LeMans. Original, un-restored mint condition, 43,000km on engine. VIN #: 9115839. I thought I'd attempt to add a few more (first time using this site so who knows....)

This article, posted on the Tigers East, Alpines East website is the actual car which I own:
http://www.teae.org/members_only/index.htm, (then go to Rootes Review then to “The Story of Dr. John Bruney’s LeMansâ€)

In 2004 Dennis Gage did a write up and TV show on the ABFM – Episode 9004 (All British Field Meet) at the Van Dusen Gardens in Vancouver, BC. http://www.myclassiccar.com/MCCTV/2004Season/episodeinfo.shtml

If anyone has any info on Dr. John Bruney &/or family, I would appreciate it. He was the original owner and if interested I would like an opportunity to get it back to them.

As the car is in such amazingly good shape and has made it through all these years relatively unscathed, I am concerned that it goes to a good home with someone who will maintain it well, as it deserves to be.

Pleas feel free to contact me via email or phone.

Thank you!

Victoria - this car is very well known within the Sunbeam community, and I'm very glad to see you've kept it in such fine original shape. You should have no trouble finding a buyer, but as you say, finding the RIGHT buyer that you are comfortable with may be more difficult.

You might also tease us with your asking price, as I for one, would be interested myself in purchasing this car.

dr.bruney was the second owner of the car.it was bought by dr. bruney at sports car forum in columbus.i was unable to find him recently when i was in lancaster.he was in his late seventies in the early 90's when he traded it and his mercedes for a new ford escort.i would say that he probably passed away quite awhile ago.i used to stop by his house and we would set in the garage and talk harringtons since i also had both of my cars at that time.quite a guy and quite a car.he was given the car to drive while sports car forum worked on his triumph and he liked it so well that he kept it.

Bob-didn't Scott W own this Harrington for awhile? It has changed hands a few times since then. I first saw this car at the Indy United a long time ago-the Dr. still owned it then too. Eric

Thanks for all the great emails and history! Much appreciated. I'm just starting to get feedback re: what the value is as there is little out there to compare with in original condition. Any research and info appreciated.

A few of you have emailed me directly as well, and I have been happy to provide more info and photos as I was unable to post more than one on this site.

A little more info: New Zenith carbs and brakes over the past couple of years. Right now the engine is somewhat disassembled as I am putting in a new clutch water pump, and am re-doing the valves, rings etc. Will be ordering parts on Monday.

FYI I am out of town from this Friday morning (June 1st) and am coming back late Sunday night, so I will probably respond to more emails etc. on Monday. Have a great weekend all!

Hey guys... this is a really nice Harrington Le Mans and needs to go to a good home. I'm still kicking myself for not buying this car from Scott W. years ago when he had it at the United in South Carolina... Would love to buy it still today... Victoria... how's my credit? ;) Please call me when you get back from your trip. I would love to chat and try to help you find it a new home.

Hello all!

Have been working on a few other things while waiting for parts to arrive from the US in about a week. Also, I have a contact here who has a pattern for Alpine series 2 cam shafts if anyone needs theirs refurbished. He did a great job on mine which was a high performance one.

I'm waiting to see what it all finally comes in at and will get back to interested parties soon. I'll have all the records at that point of the work that has been done.

All the best and thanks for all your support in helping to find a good home for "Natasha" as in "but Bullwinkle, vat ve goink to do about moose and sqvirrel???"

Hello Victoria,

Have those parts arrived yet? just wondering if it all cam together yet or that "Natasha" found already a good new home? Certainly interested, after I drove in a Harrington Lemans through Paris this past May.
