I was a bit disappointed as I thought a car that nice would have brought more.
Probably doesn't even come close to what he has invested in it.

My reasonable sell price was in the $45 to $50 Bracket..... Absolutely Beautiful Modified Sunbeam Alpine V6.

Wish Kelly the Best for his future plans,

If you build a car of this caliber and think you'll recover your time and your investment. Your dreaming.

Only points up the fact that money spent on an Alpine should not be considered and investment.

I have no idea how much I have "invested" in our Alpines and do not care. Whatever that amount is, divide by 113,000 (miles) and it becomes liveable. Not to mention the great people I've met, or all the hours it has kept me off the couch and out of the bar rooms.

Think of how much money some people spend on golf or travel. They do not expect any return of their money, nor should I (or anyone) expect a return from their Alpine hobby. But Kelly's Alpine was a beauty. I had hoped to get a ride in it when I visited him in 2013 , but that was when he was dealing with issues caused by his throttle sticking open, IIRC. Was our group aware that he was selling it? Hard to believe his last post (out of 586 posts ) was in Dec 2018.
