Tiger Battery Cable Routing Diagram

It seems, according to my mechanic, the battery cable in my Tiger needs replacing. Can anyone who has replaced this cable tell me how the cable is routed through the car from the trunk to the starter? Is there a routing diagram available online that shows where the cable goes? Thanks for any help.

Rick

I've never noticed a diagram. But with the battery in the trunk there should be a round hole in the panel covering the r/h (as you face forward) gas tank. The cable goes through there, up over the wheel well and comes out from a hole down by the floor where the floor, well and inner rocker come together. It then runs through some clips along the inner rocker to the footwell where there should be a hole in the firewall to the outside of the solenoid, it goes through there and connects.

Thanks Mike. I appreciate your input.

I can take some pictures this weekend but certainly don't want to post them online.

Adding a question to this older post. I am adding Dynamat to the floor and inner rockers. I don't see evidence of prior clips for the battery cable. As I remember, the cable was originally covered with a rose colored cardboard piece, glued over it. Then the carpet. Would I cover the cable with the Dynamat material, and be very careful with keeping track of the cable if running screws for carpet etc? And of course grommets for entering/exiting the passenger compartment?
David

Kind of a late answer, the cable will be up against the metal of the inner rocker with the stiffening bboard and carpet over top. Originally the cable clips were welded to the inner rocker, many have broken off and either not been replaced or had something like a strip pop riveted or screwed to the inner panel. That's what I ended up with since they were gone

Hi David:
Sorry for the late response. I ran the sound proofing UNDER everything including the battery cable. I figured being able to see exactly where things were rather than guessing where they were is a lot better than trying to guess locations. It becomes a ‘skin’ on the floor with all parts that go into the cockpit fastened on top of the skin.

Thanks for the replies. Think I will replace the lost clips with riveted ones, on top of the dynamat.
David

Was the carpet originally glued to the hardboard mounted to the inner rocker, and the horizontal area on top under the aluminum trim?
