My temperature gauge is reading high. I have replaced the sensor. My infra-red thermometer indicates that the engine is operating in the normal range. Please advise. Thanks

E-M,

If this is in regards to your '66 sV, then the first question is, "Is the gauge voltage regulator present and functioning correctly?

The fuel and temp gauge should have a dedicated ~ 10 Volt power supply. If yours is missing or not functioning ( stuck internal contacts ) and your fuel and temp gauge are receiving a 12 V supply, then both gauges will read high.

Hope this helps,
