I am in need of a tachometer bridge piece and knurled nut for a series V tach. They go on the back side of the tach. Thanks, Kevin

I made my own metal bridge piece, seems to me I used a metal clip from a ball point pen. Got a knurled but from Home Depot or some such hardware store. That was about 10 years ago and many miles later, still working fine.

British wire or Sunbeam Specialties
Gordon, Where in Sunbeam Specialties can I find the "bridge" for a tach? I search every page without finding it!

There must be more to the "British wire" because a search did not lead to it either.....any help is appreciated.

I think it is one of those things you ask about. I thought no nissonger in ny has them

Sunbeam Specialties used to list it years ago, but went NLA . The easiest place to get one is to disassemble a scrap tach. The inner half of that pulse transformer is an identical piece to the outer half. I have also made one from a steel "tin can". I think a coffee can bottom has a flat surface that can be used. Whatever you use, be sure it is steel- test it with a magnet to be sure a magnet sticks to it. Do not use galvanized steel, the zinc coating is too thick and makes too large a gap in the magnetic core. Be sure that both tips of your C-Clip ( that's what I call it) are in contact with the inner half when installed.

You don't need a knurled nut - you can tighten a hex nut pretty well with your fingers. But I'm not sure what thread.
