SV V6 Conversion

While it is unlikely for a 57 yo car to be totally rust free, I came across a barn find that had nothing but a little surface rust on the driver’s side floorboard. This SV was first sold at Hansen Motors, Berkeley, CA. It was moved from the SF Bay Area to Redding Calif where it underwent a mostly frame off restoration. (Looking in hidden spots some of the original red paint peeks out next to the Commodore Blue.) While I was considering purchasing the car I had a PPI done with a search for rust being the primary focus. It had no actual cancer.
I was looking for a vehicle that I could track and show and this car fills the bill except that it has no power steering and both of my shoulders are shot!
Improvements done during my stewardship are:
PERFORMANCE:
Pertronix distributor rebuilt
Pertronix ignition
500 CFM 2 BBL carb rebuilt/rejetted
V6 was installed using “Jose” parts
Oversized aluminum radiator

I am also a Porsche Club of America member and sometimes I take the SV to C & C. It irks the drivers of Speedsters to no end when my humble British roadster gets more eyes than Dr. Porsche’s finest $250,000 rides.
Valves were adjusted and oil changed within few months.
I have many more pics which I can send via PM or perhaps post on DropBox.
Cost for improvements and repairs cost over $8500. $22,222 OBO

Looks like a nicely done V6.

Next thing you need is the rear disc brake I have along with the Electric Power Steering (EPS) may be A/C too.

Was the engine rebuilt before installation?

What gearbox is used?

What if any performance mods were made when the engine was built?

And suspension modification?

thanks in advance for your time,

David

Thanks for the very legit questions.
I purchased the SV with engine installed and by the way it looks it was either a very skilled amateur or a pro who put it in.
First thing i did was adjust the valves and while at it did. a compression check. Cylinders varied from 125 to 130. I am still using it as my daily and it just flys...up to about 70MPH, then it runs out of gearing. At 75mph it tacks about 4k RPM. That is not a number I like to cruise at. I can send you an audio file but it appears to have a mild cam in it. It does not smoke and starts instantly. I am not certain of teh gearbox except that it is a 5 speed.
No suspension mods. I just had new shocks and all new bushings installed.
The tires are virtually new and date code is good.
I have really enjoyed this car but in all seriousness it is hard to go the the grocery store cause it draws such a crowd. I use it for my commute to the gym. FOr the hardware store I take my truck.
I would be happy to take it to the shop of your choice IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY FIND SOMEPLACE THAT KNOWS OLD CARS IN THIS AREA.

I looked at the install of the PS kit. How long does it take to install? Thanks

Sorry, no clue. I was told this is stock. Sunny warm day today.
Taking TRY-GRR to run some errands!!

Hi , Dale here from Canada. I'm doing a V6 conversion on my '62 Alpine , but would like something to drive in the next few years.
Is this still available?

Hi Dale. This is not my nephew from PEI that is yanking my chain, is it, EH? Where are you? I grew up in PQ. I have someone who wants the car but he wants me to take another sports car in partial trade. I prefer all cash so you would have first dibs.

Not pulling your chain.. I’m here in sunny Calgary , Alberta. DanR knows me , I bought his conversion kit and a few more parts.
