August 24-26, 2012 (Thurs-Sat)

Concours, rallye, autocross & more! Headquartered at the Red Lion Inn, just off of I-5.

Sunbeam Northwest has been held every few years since 1979 at various locales around the Pacific Northwest, from the central mountains of Sisters, Oregon all the way north to Victoria, B.C.

Sponsored this year by Pacific Tiger Club, but not just for Tigers. At last year's event we had a half-dozen Alpines, plus almost 40 Tigers. Maybe more Alpines this year?

More details and a downloadable registration form can be found at:

http://catmbr.org/VB_forum/showthread.php?p=6544

One note: On the event info form found at the above link, use the "RV Parking Reservations" direct phone number to Amy Stark to receive the fully-discounted room rate at the Red Lion Inn.

More questions? Email: RootesRooter@aol.com or call me at 253-859-7987. Please, no PM's. The tiny inbox fills up too fast.

Just over a week to go before Sunbeam Northwest! See the links in my earlier post for more info. Late registration on-site. Alpine not running?? Come anyway! The non-car registration is a great value. Several hotel rooms at the Red Lion were still available as of yesterday.

The autocross at Sunbeam Northwest will be held at the Sanderson Field airport. The organizers want to remind everyone that amenities are few on the hot runway, so bring your own chairs and shade. We'll have water and pop on hand.

Fun weekend in Olympia! About 35 Sunbeams and their owners were on hand, including five Series Alpines and one very rare 1970 Alpine GT fastback.

Also, for anyone visiting the region, the new LeMay museum (aka ACM = "America's Car Museum") in Tacoma, WA is fantastic! Included in their current "British Invasion" display are two locally owned Sunbeams: Jerry Logan's Harrington LeMans (per Jerry's research, it was originally featured on the cover of Car & Driver!) and Brett Simpson's early Mk I Tiger. How early? Per the JAL number, it was the first one off the Jensen assembly line. Both Sunbeams are immaculately restored.
