Dan, what kind of arrangements did you make? I was told the "Johnson" block was sold out and Friday's room would be almost $200. So we are staying at the Baymont.

Here are four of the Alpines that participated in the SAOCA Invasion in Columbia, SC March 2018.

Not very clear, but if you look closely you will spot the SAOCA President Jim Stone by the front door of Blue Boy, DanR's V6.

Thanks for posting all the photos Bob. And thanks to all who came-sorry that the weather and other things kept some folks away. We missed you all!

Todd Smith (the best Hagerty agent in the SE) had plenty of these to hand out during the Invasion. I have never seen a car air freshener with a "old car smell" aroma. sort of like gasoline, oil, leather interior?, and who knows what else! The key chains smell like new car tires as they are made of rubber.....

It was really a great weekend! My thanks to all of the event organizers and everyone who attended. I certainly would have enjoyed it more with my Alpine along, but it is tough when winter is still very much with us northerners! Maybe next year!

Let's get that V6 going! How about a good start and show some PIC's? That is always good medicine for creating a desire to place extra efforts on a project:)

I actually took a break during the show and called the guy who is doing the body work. My intent was to pull the plug and tell him that I would pick up the car on an upcoming trip to St. Louis. However, it turned out he actually did some work on it last week, for the first time in 2 years. There is still a lot to do, but I will go see him when I am in town and formulate a plan. He's actually done quite a bit of work (replaced one rocker panel and both front and rear valences, although he said he isn't happy with the front and wants to remove it and re-install it - it is just tacked on for now) but he still needs to repair a damaged rear quarter panel and then spend the time necessary to block and sand everything. I'd pull the plug anyway, but the reality is 1) he does great work and 2) it would probably cost me more to do the body work myself and have it painted here than he will charge me for everything. Still, I'm anxious to get moving on this, too and might bring it home anyway.
