Sunbeam Alpine & Tiger: Draining the Body Shell (Part 2)

Tim R

Silver Level Sponsor
This video is the second of two about modifying Sunbeam Alpines & Tigers to drain water more effectively away from the body of the car. This video covers draining the 'chassis'. Even though it is a monocoque body it does effectively have a chassis when you look at the cross frame and the main structural bars that the rest of the body panels are mounted on. As standard the Sunbeam Alpine and Tigers had little provision for draining water away, as a result they were prone to rusting out in specific places that got wet and then just stayed wet. This video shows how we modify our cars to get the water out. There are other ways to do this, the video is simply a record of what we do to our own cars. If you want to do something similar we hope that it helps you.
