Sunbeam Alpine: Driving our Series V from Hythe to Tenterden

This video shows us driving Alpi, our Series V Sunbeam Alpine from Hythe to Tenterden, in England.

She may be over 55 years old but she keeps up with modern traffic and is a great drive on country roads. If you’ve been stuck at home during lockdown or your car is undergoing restoration and getting it back on the road seems a long way off watch this video, this is what driving a 1960s Sports car is all about.

We all need to enjoy beautiful old cars like this while we still can.

Nice - thanks for posting! In Cleveland, Ohio, USA we have a lot of salt residue on the roads this time of year, so I don't get much chance to get the Alpine out. Glad someone is.

Mike we have plenty of Salt on the roads here too in winter but this car was restored from a completely rusted out wreck that should really have been scrapped. We took a lot of rust prevention measures when we rebuilt her and take the view that she was made to be driven so if the salt makes her go rusty, we will just rebuild her again.

Apparently the noise of the engine in this video is very good for soothing restless babies off to sleep! It used to work when our own son was in the back of this same car 30 odd years ago but I never thought that a video would have the same affect!
